Summer School on:
Many body physics with Rydberg atoms
June 9 to 12, 2022
Physikzentrum Bad Honnef
Many body physics with Rydberg atoms
Summary
Rydberg atom arrays have emerged as an extremely versatile playground for the realization of several emergent phenomena theoretically predicted to occur in quantum many body systems. These include spin liquids, non-equilibrium phases of matter and disorder induced phases. This summer school aims at offering a unique blend of the theoretical foundations of such emergent phenomena and experimental know-how on their realization in Rydberg atom setups. Primarily aimed at Master and PhD students, we bring together experts in both theory and experiment to provide a comprehensive workshop on the rich and fascinating physics of exotic many body phenomena in Rydberg atom setups.
Invited speakers:
Mikhail Lukin // Harvard
Probing quantum phases with atomic arrays
Michael Fleischhauer // Kaiserslautern
Topology and emergent gauge fields in Rydberg atoms
Dmitry Abanin // Geneva
Dynamics of disordered many body systems and quantum scars
Target Audience
The event is intended for Master- or PhD- students and Post-docs.
